I have a collaborative approach to therapy and see it as a partnership in which I can educate, support, encourage, and guide clients to improve their lives.  There are no guarantees in counseling--however, in my experience patients do get better and almost always achieve the goals they set forth at the beginning of therapy.

In my opinion, an important quality to look for in a psychologist or therapist is someone you feel comfortable with.  Equally important is their training and experience.  I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and have worked with clients on problems such as depression, anxiety, relationships, childhood issues, self-esteem, medical problems such as infertility or chronic pain, or simply feeling "stuck in a rut" of making the same mistakes in life but not knowing why or how to change.
